What is Blog commenting? There are billions of blogs online. There are blogs virtually on every topic. Most of these blogs have a place for the visitors to contribute in the bottom. Here the visitors have a place to comment about the article, topic etc. These comments page usually has a place where you can insert your url. If your comments are approved, you have a great chance to increase your backlink. Here we must also understand the importance of dofollow and nofollow. If a blog allows search engine to follow your link to your website it is called dofollow. By design every blog is a dofollow blog. But nowadays we are seeing majority of these blogs going nofollow. They add nofollow tag to the outgoing links. What this nofollow tag does is it instructs the search engine not to follow the Links.A Link builder must build his link by choosing only dofollow blogs.

Now let us go deeper in to blog commenting. Where we will comment? We comment only on Do follow blogs. How do we find do follow and nofollow blogs? It is pretty simple. But it is not free.
Now it is time to find Pagerank of the blog. There are two different school of thought here. For example people say the home page PR is not important when we comment on inner pages. The page where we comment must have Pagerank for itself. There is another school of thought that goes like this. Google is simply looking for authority sites. These authority sites are given High PR. It is always important to have your links in Good neighborhood. So If you have a Link in these High PR sites whether the page has PR or not you will benefit from the Link. The Comment and the link will be considered by Google As the quality Backlinks. Famous Backlinks specialists like Angela and Paul Johnson seem to favor the second school of thought. I too believe this is the most important and Valid point.
There is another discussion going on about related blog commenting. There are people for and against this thought. One school of thought is that if the page has good pagerank whether the page is related to your website or not it is always considered to be a good link by the search engines. But others contradict by saying the link we receive from should be from related blogs because, Google actually search for the related terms in those Links. Here I have a simple approach. To have High quality commenting in place, it is just impossible to find related blogs or topics. So we must make the posts in High PR blogs to increase the ranking or Pagerank of our sites. We must also conduct search for related blogs and whenever we find them we must post to improve the backlinks. A bit of both strategies could not hurt your plans.
When you go to actual job of posting your comments, I would like you to follow the guidelines that are listed below.
1. Never make a post that is not related to the topic of discussion. If you try to sell your website or product there, your comment will be considered spamming and it will be rejected. Try to add to the topic of discussion by discussing valid related comments.
2. Never use keywords in the Name column unless you are sure that the forum allows it. You can see the previous accepted comments to make sure whether the blog admin accepts the comments or not.
3. Do not post your comment if the blog has more than 25 outgoing links. If a page has more outgoing link, your link will not be useful
4. Do not post your comments in blogs where there are spam posts like Viagra advertisements posted. The quality of the link is always in the neighborhood. If your link is in bad neighborhood, it is useless.
5. Do not make short comments. If you make comments like good post, or I like it etc, Blog admin will consider you as a spammer.
6. Do not use more than 1 link and do not link more than once. If you do, then your post will not be accepted.
